The Backrooms Expanded
The expanse of the unconscious mind bears no bounds; it exceeds all limits of reality, and there the dust flows like sands of time. It's taunting, and it's haunting, it shows all your flaws, and grants you a choice to keep it all or lose it all. There's a valor in keeping your flaws, but you can always be swallowed up by the waves, washed away, scattered, and born anew. The choice is yours.

FATE.
Hello, intrepid wanderer. I have been monitoring you for a long, long time.
You have journeyed through a thousand levels through sheer will and perseverance. You have seen your friends die before your eyes. You have gone through ultimate pain and torture. But you denied. You denied the ending you sought. You rejected the end you worked so hard to fight for, to survive for. And so you repeated the cycle. You altered it, but still, you had no satisfaction.
Your worst mistake was choosing a different path, making different decisions from the ones you made before. You continued to traverse through levels that broke all laws of everything, levels that shattered and restored your beliefs over and over again. The first time, your greed and pride swayed your thoughts and kept you going until you found yourself in a palace. The second time, your gullibility and innocence were the main reasons for your downfall. Mercy does not exist in hell.
You had reached the end of the cycle. But once more, you denied it. But this time, you had learnt from your past mistakes. You stayed within the end of the cycle, trying to find another escape, a key that would lead you to an imaginary ending that you had dreamed of ever since you entered the never-ending layers of hell.
It seemed that there was only one way out, but you continued to search. Until you finally found the exit that you were looking for. An opening within the distortion and corruption that the end of the cycle contained. Then, there was a door. You walked forward, slowly and carefully opening the door. What awaited you? Was this the end? Questions filled your mind as you closed your eyes and ran towards your fate.
There was a flash of lights. Your whole journey appeared before your eyes. Your body tried to stop you. Your mind tried to stop you. Everything, even yourself, was fighting against your determination. You couldn't give up at this stage. You were so close to freedom.
With all of your energy, something resonated within you. With ultimate dedication, you remembered what your mission was, and marched forward.
And so, with all of your remaining might, you denied the voices and shouted.
I WILL WIN
WIN
WIN
Satisfaction. Freedom. Peace. Safety. Everything you have ever wished was about to reach the palm of your hands.
There was darkness. And then there was light. Darkness. Light. Darkness Light. The cycle repeated endlessly. Even fate was trying to stop you from reaching the end.
You continuously fought and fought, until you physically and mentally couldn't. Soon everything morphed and changed in front of your eyes. The truth was slipping away from your grasp. You were being defeated. A portal appeared behind you, you desperately tried to escape, but you were being sucked in.
Inside the portal, you saw everything.
You saw your beginning.
You saw denial.
You saw a twisted version of your reality.
You saw another ending you could have chosen.
You saw the worst possible choice.
The entire universe was rooting against you.
And so, within the depths of time and space, you found a way out.
Or did you find something else..?
WHAT LIES BEYOND THE SURFACE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD.

The Promised Lands:
A refuge for explorers like Neutrilon; however, a deeper tension between backroom groups lies in a boiling pot ready to explode.

Daybreaker:
The legendary Staff 8 is capable of spewing out the calamity of the sun itself. It's a heavily valued weapon in the Backrooms Corp.

Major Explorer Group:
Also known as MEG, it is a colonization organization that is set on the goal of hopefully inhabiting the expanse of the backrooms.

Main: Neutrilon
Once the leader of the Uvokii, now lost in the depths of the Backrooms. He will have to face the past, present, and future to escape and find what he has lost. The things he cares about the most will be found in due time. Yet a great curse beholds him: the scramble, the kill switch, the effect of selfishness from the past comes to invade him. Power tries to creep into his body like the vines of the Stygian Trees. In the Backrooms, anything can be lost; anything can also be found...
His personality doesn't match his leadership; he's not very talkative, is always doubtful, and for those reasons, he isn't taken by most of his team to be a leader. However, Neutrilon, though extremely intelligent, because of the effects of the clusters and Kang's mind scramble, he's needed to rebuild his own memory and abilities to prove himself as a true leader.
Defining Features:
ARC 1: HYPERBOREAN LEVELING
Neutrilon, after losing his entire team in the backrooms, wanders through the highest levels in the backrooms before landing in level 1000, entering the 2nd cluster. He questions his ability to be a leader, thinking back on all his mistakes in the satellite. Neutrilon starts to wonder if he'll ever find his way back or if he should just go farther. He's lost in the world, full of doubt...
The Hyperborean Leveling Arc is mostly a story of proving himself. He is dragged into a civil war where he meets Kang the Conqueror. A multiversal being with an infinite number of variants under the Council of Kangs. Neutrilon is determined to unravel the darkness within and find a way f to stop Kang's conquest to save his friends, whom he deems family. (THANK YOU MARVEL)

PART 1: TIME SPACE CONVERGENCE

Neutrilon arrives in the Promise Lands, a land once established by the M.E.G Organization; however, it's now overtaken by other settlements. He arrived during a time when major civil conflicts had arisen, and a civil war was on the brink of occurring. The leader of the war suspected Neutrilon as a threat and the culprit of the attack on Jakorei, leading to the events where Kang eventually shows himself.
Jakorei was under the control of Sequora, the Time Space Warden, while Azuetia was under the leadership of an alternate Nuju. At the center of the conflict was Kang, who orchestrated the civil war to gain ground in the Backrooms for his eventual invasion. Time and space converge as Neutrilon is thrown into the Void.
ACT 1: PROMISE LANDS

Neutrilon's mental state continues to deteriorate as he tries to settle down in the Promise Lands. He can't shake the feeling of failure he perceives in himself for losing his team and his time in the Satellite. Neutrilon arrives in Jakorei, and for a few days he recovers, and he learns the two sides of the lands are in heavy civil dispute. However, hours after the 4th day near the Jakorei Statue, a terrorist attack bombs and destroys the statue, causing a civil war between the Azuetians and Jakorians. Sequora, the Time Space Warden, a variant of Kang, and the leader of the Jakoreis, sends his FBI force to find and lock up Neutrilon after being labeled a suspect. In 2 days, Neutrilon is captured in Azeutian territory and is taken to an underground bunker; however, he is let out by Keisa, leader of the FBI, for unknown reasons. After returning to Azuetia, he decides to escape the hotel and ends up finding himself on the outskirts, where he meets Irythia, a former member of M.E.G. Kang caused the bombing and framed Neutrilon.

Neutrilon finds himself at the crossroads of an invasion, and he is now determined to prove himself a hero by stopping the one in charge, but he has no idea how much of a challenge that would ever be. His mental is healing for now...
ACT 2: The Warden

After Neutrilon meets Irythia, she tells him how she's a former M.E.G employee and how the Jakorei and Azuetian beef only happened because they pulled funding from this area and sided with the Azuetians. She wants Neutrilon to help her remove the Jakorei and Azuetians and reestablish the promise lands; their minds align. Irythia brings him to the edge of the outskirts, showing him that the promise lands were once a regular world, but after the Jakorei-Azuetian Pact took over and drained the resources to build the infinite hotel, it dried up. The both of them walk to Irythia's hideout, where they go on horses to a recently uncovered ancient civilization. Irythia tells Neutrilon that a powerful artifact lies here, but bandits patrol the area. After a fight and defeating Niro, the leader of the Bandits, they go back to make a plan unknown they are being tracked. They are ambushed at their hideout, and Nuetrilon is injured badly. Luckily, they survive and defeat the remnants of the Bandits.

Cluster 2 is nearly in all of Kang's grasp. Neutrilon is injured, with a whole leg blown off; luckily, Irythia has a background in robotics and makes him a new leg.
ACT 3: Kang Crucible

In the far ends of the Hotel, an Azuetian resistance has been expanding and has gotten ready to fight for their lives against the tyranny of the Jakorei. Nuetrilon and Irythia construct a weapon that desensitizes senses, which can stun the leader of the Jakorei long enough to take off his mask. They both enter the Hotel through the outskirts and aim to find an elevator taking them to the top floor. Hours later, they spot the resistance group and join them so they can have a clean path to a room with a higher elevator. After camping out in their base, an army assembles under Maliya, leader of the resistance, and they set forth on bringing justice to their people. The two armies meet in a giant room, and they fight while Irythia and Neutrilon escape into an elevator taking them to floor 999. Sequora senses them and lets out his guardians. The two fight them off but struggle against Guardian Zero until Neutrilon activates a never-before-seen sonic blast, destroying it. As they enter, Sequora activates his mask, scrambling their comms.
Locations:
Artifacts:
Characters:

The two end up using commands at the wrong time and are captured by Sequora. They are brought to Kang (the Conqueror) and forced into a crucible. He tells them they are brave but are useless against his master plan. They get pruned and sent to the Void (Cluster 100). Both wake up in the Void with a huge burn scar in the shape of an Omega.
PART 2: Strings of fabric

Neutrilon is tested by the hostile environment of the Void, where pruned things are sent. The Void is a graveyard that holds all things unwanted from the multiverse, and it has an entity that devours everything. Irythia and Neutrilon must find a way to escape and take down Kang before he utilizes the Promise Lands as an outpost for invading the Backrooms.
Neutrilon's mental state has stabilized for now since he has a newfound purpose and has a friend to fight alongside with. There is still a deeper entanglement that fogs his brain from becoming the leader he wants to be. In the Void, societies rise and fall, and only the strong survive. There's a growing threat blocking those who wish to escape, and they must overcome it.
ACT 1: Multiverse GraveYard

After waking up, Irythia and Neutrilon wander around, coming across multiple landmarks they've seen before. They realize these are from other multiverses, and just then 3 sand crawlers (vehicles) approach them. Believing they are friendly, they go up to them, but they learn the hard way that the newly pruned are prey for those who survived and became powerful. They arrive at the Hunters' territory, and the leader taunts them and uncovers secrets from both of them. They are forced as bait for Alioth, the devourer, but all of a sudden, fighter jets start raining down bullets, giving the 2 time to escape. On a sand crawler, they travel for days in the wastelands and realize that they are guarding some sort of portal way out. Along the way, they gather resources, but also get into arguments and fights that leave them on bitter terms. Days later, they come across a cave base with 4 variant heroes, which they team up with. That night, Irythia reflects on her past and Neutrilon comforts her.
Locations:
Artifacts:
Characters:

Cave Base:

Sand Crawler:
Primary vehicle used by Vespasian's faction to hunt down newly pruned variants.

Vespasian:
Self -declared overlord of the void because of his power from his faction and control of Alioth.

Takanuva Variant:
A version of the shadow Takanuva that was pruned and 1/4 of the heroes from the cave base.

Turins:
Leader of a small group that aids Irythia and Neutrilon by giving them some needed resources.
Act 1 is mostly a mental battle after Vespasian tampered with Irythia and Nuetrilon's minds and memories. This is the reason they lashed out at each other; it's because repressed memories resurfaced of things they never want to see again. Now the 6 of them are ready to leave this void. (Those fighter jets will be important soon)
ACT 2: Within the void

After a night's rest, Neutrilon and Irythia explain they believe Vespasian is guarding a portal way back. Takanuva Variant tells them they will head to the Sanctum of the Dead to harness a power from a deal with a high priest. They arrive on the island and get surrounded by corpses. The blind seer emerges and takes the offered blood from all 6 of them and, in turn, tells them to drink the Azure Ichor of a saint. They travel into the dome, and there they drink. Each of them is put into a vision, a damned vision. When they return from trance, they now see 5 seconds into the future (iris). The heroes return to the base, then sneakily try to infiltrate Vespasian's stronghold, but they are caught. A fight breaks out, and they notice the Juggernaut's helmet blocks psionic attacks, so they try putting it on Vespasian. They put the helmet on him, but it fails; 4/6 of the heroes are captured. Neutrilon and Takanuva Variant escape into the Steelspires away from Alioth's grasp. Vespasian commands Alioth to track them down...

Janic:
The Pilot of the jet saving Neutrilon and Takanuva Variant. Member of the Variant Society.
Irythia and the other captives tell them about the portal and say how Vespasian is deliberately blocking their way back home. A revolution starts boiling within the faction. Neutrilon and Takanuva Variant are rescued by the fighter jets and introduced to Janic. The visions of destiny made them lose focus and lose their way back home.
ACt 3: Alioth living tempest

Neutrilon and Takanuva land in the society of variants, but they are extremely distraught. They stay in a house, but in the night, Vespasian takes control of Takanuva, and he hangs himself. Neutrilon wakes in horror at the sight; he buries him with a flower and swears revenge. Neutrilon's Iris begins acting up when he overhears people talking about the legend of a sonics toa who fought off Alioth. People tell him to come to a convention, but during that, the president is shot and killed. Chaos ensues as the society is overrun, and for some reason, they begin hacking down on people who know about the legend. Neutrilon finds the person he overheard, and he gives Neutrilon a map, also making the comment that he looks like the legendary figure. He goes underground and finds a statue of the figure and an entrance to the 10 chambers. It's a trial that lets him in; he's first guided by his past (Matoran) and is taught lessons he never knew. Then he fights his future and is pushed off a cliff. He ends with a corrupted version of himself taunting him for being weak. (Green Ninja Trial) In the end, he technically fails the trial, but he's still let through. At the end, he finds a Stratocaster with his name on it. The statue's face crumbles, revealing his.

Corrupted Neutrilon:
Another future Neutrilon that mocks the present one for being weak and useless.
The New Regime was Vespasian's doing, and they tried hunting down Neutrilon. He finds a survivor camp and holds a speech for revolution, which fires the sparks of the remaining. Neutrilon can sense Alioth approaching through his Iris. He comes out to face it and kneels, strumming his guitar, achieving full potential and destroying Alioth in one supersonic wave. On the other hand, Irythia and the 3 others manage to start a mutiny in Vespasian's base. They are freed, and the mutiny attacks. In only a few minutes, Vespasian is killed by his right-hand man. The portal that takes them home is unraveled and revealed. In the process, however, Irythia is badly injured, and 2 die. The 2 escape the base and return to the cave.
The TVA steps in; Paradox emerges and takes Neutrilon with him. Irythia and Alternate Trinuma enter the cave with a letter from the TVA. And the Act ends with a sandstorm swallowing the void, and a speech by the revolutionary leader rallies the rebels. Neutrilon wakes up in binds in front of Paradox.
PART 3: Reoccuring Dream

Kang's Invasion has officially begun. Neutrilon and Irythia are still trapped in the void, but they are closer to freedom every day. New threats arrive, like the TVA, an organization run by Kang that aims to prune the void of revolutionaries (people who are trying to escape) as well as destroy the Prime Universe through a time ripper.
"And the game was over and the player woke up from the dream. And the player began a new dream. And the player dreamed again, dreamed better. And the player was the universe. And the player was love." -He Who Remains. Neutrilon is undeniably in his strongest and most complete form. However, he faces a new challenge: save his universe from Paradox, who wants to use a time ripper to accelerate its decay (because the anchor being died-Janic). On contrasting sides, Irythia needs to find Neutrilon but is interrupted by the TVA and uncovers that Kang's true power comes from controlling all of time itself. The Council of Kangs is infinite, the universe is his.
ACT 1: Void Pruning

Paradox, a member of the TVA, introduces himself and tells Neutrilon that his universe's Anchor Being (Janic) has died and that he wants to fast-track the extinction of his universe. He takes him to a command room and shows him the timeline and a device, but then Neutrilon steals it and escapes into a stormy world. Due to the overwhelming storm, Neutrilon passes out before finding shelter; however, when he wakes up, he sees that a variant of himself was carrying him in the void. Startled, he asks questions, but is assured he is help, and is told that he shouldn't have destroyed Alioth because that's the only way to find Kang. Neutrilon tells his variant that his anchor being has died and his universe is going to get torn apart. The TVA has entered the void in search of them and nearly caught up. After a while, they find another variant (the variant already knows this variant) and tell them they figured out where to re-summon Alioth and cast the enchantment. It's finally revealed what the variants are looking for: He Who Remains, the ultimate Kang. The 3 find a buggy and head to the Dark Farlands. The TVA, who were watching them, begins pruning the void: killing any rebel and anyone on their path to reach He Who Remains.
Locations:
Artifacts:
Characters:
The TVA:
The Organization that works outside of Time itself and Kang's way of commanding time and multiverse.
Dark Farlands:
Where Neutrilon and his variants go after escaping the TVA. They believe the Farlands hold the key to escape.
Time Ripper:
The Machine that will fast-track the destruction of the Prime universe. Neutrilon has to stop it.

Neutrilon was once destined to become Spinner, the dark hunter; however, many escaped that path.
Paradox:
A Variant of The Shadowed One's species, and he wanted to fast-track the death of Neutrilon's Uni.
Trinuma Variant:
One of the 4 heroes from the cave base, the survivor of the Vespasian collapse. Helped Irythia escape.

On the other hand, Irythia and Trinuma return to their base with Irythia badly injured. Trinuma fixes her up, and the next day they return to the ruined base and find a note saying the portal is gone and everyone who escaped has been re-pruned. They are then ambushed by the TVA, yet they manage to fight them off, take their weapons, escape, and pose as officers in the TVA. Over a period of time, they learn a ton of multiversal information, such as the Infinity Stones and the Sacred Timeline. Kang taps into their minds, however, and prunes them before they know too much. He then shows them an image of Neutrilon and warns them not to find him, or everyone will die in vain. Neutrilon is in great danger, or is he the one who will cause the danger..?
At the end of the act, Irythia tells Trinuma she stole a scroll on time slippage, which she believes can be used to somewhere somehow find and save Neutrilon. Likewise, Neutrilon and his 2 variants drive into the dark depths of the Farlands; from He Who Remains, he can somewhere somehow find a way to save his universe.
ACT 2: He who remains

As they ride, they see more corruption and scattered items lost to time. They reach the edge, where they eventually meet up with the last member (variant 3). They then tell Neutrilon to use his sound-breaker powers and shatter the wall to unleash Alioth again. He asks how he knows about that, and he says they have been watching him. He does, and Variant 2 and 3 cast an enchantment to tame the beast. Before they walk through, however, a legion of Paradox's TVA tried to stop them. It's too late, as Variant 2 uses his Scepter to control their minds and teleport them away. They walk through into the Citadel at the End of Time and find He Who Remains. The Variants want to kill him, but He Who Remains explains that killing him will destroy the balance that checks the powers of all variant Kangs: without him, no one can control their conquest. Neutrilon tries to tell them not to, but Variant 2, the childish one, stabs him in the heart, unleashing the Council of Kangs. Suddenly, they are transported out back into the TVA. Neutrilon realizes the implications but chooses to save his universe first; sometimes being selfish is the only way to save the multiverse... Now, no one can stop the council from domination.

Irythia and Trinuma are time-slipping throughout time, ending up in ancient times, classical times, modern times, and future times throughout the multiverse. Their journey has led them to appreciate time and the evolution of people through the human condition. They eventually master time slipping, connect with Neutrilon, and teleport to the ceiling, where they watch in horror as a variant kills him. They realize the timeline is now destabilized, and any Kang has the power to become an overlord. Through time slippage, they rewind time over and over and over again, thousands of tries to stop them but it never works, ultimately giving up. They are transferred back to the TVA after their last try. They escape and return to Cluster 2, watching as it is taken over by a council.
Neutrilon travels multiple universes to find a replacement for Janic, eventually finding one and returning to the TVA. Paradox laughs at Neutrilon for bringing the worst Janic out of every variant and tells him that's not how anchor beings work. The 2 are pruned and pushed into the crumbling void while Paradox sets up the Time Ripper.
ACt 3: The Council of kangs

The Void is crumbling away because He Who Remains has died. Neutrilon and Variant Janic get into frequent arguments about bringing him into this, but he says it's the only way: redemption or forever staying a failure. Throughout all the psychological conflicts, they learn to work together. Neutrilon tells Janic they need to get to the Farlands and use the Citadel to travel to the TVA, then to his universe. They both speed through the spiked forest to the civilization with the Jets and steal one. A wild goose chase ensues, ending in a crash that the 2 survive. They get to the Citadel and teleport out just as the Void is completely pruned. The TVA is also crumbling as the Council begins fighting for power. The 2 enter a pod taking them to the Prime Universe, where they locate the Time Ripper using Neutrilon's Iris to a Machine-Spun Atero. They fight through TVA forces, and Neutrilon also uses a new form of sound breaker that is temporal as well. They find the Time Ripper and manage to absorb its powers before it detonates, turning the variant into this universe's anchor being. Paradox is then pruned, and Janic thanks Neutrilon, and they go their separate ways (for now).

With the Void getting pruned, He Who Remains unleashing the council of Kangs, and Cluster 2 being overtaken by battling Kangs, Irythia and Trinuma find themselves in the midst of a multiversal war. They realize that the Kangs are fighting each other for power. And in the shadows, they watch as 4 prominent figures emerge: The Scarlet Centurion, Immortus, Rama-Tut, and Iron Lad. The first 3 being the direct evolution of Kang, which the 2 use to learn more about the history of Kang himself, and the 4th being one without conquest intent. They realize there is a weakness amongst the Council itself: they hate each other. But when the 2 act upon a plan they made, it backfires, as it unites the Kangs more. However, even with more variants uniting, a deeper rift between the 3 Kang Constructs emerged. Irythia and Trinuma, traveling through Cluster 2, find a weakened Iron Lad in Level 1578. The 2 save him, and he tells them that these variants are extremely dangerous, possessing powers most people have no knowledge of. Iron Lad teams up with the 2 and begins formulating a plan involving taking Immortus' Forever Crystal, forged in the heart of Chronopolis.
Neutrilon re-enters the TVA and then enters the Cluster using the TVA's weapons. He watches as the cluster is taken by Kangs, but he notices that they're practically in a civil war with each other. Irythia tells Iron Lad that before they do this plan, they need Neutrilon; she has a special feeling he will be extremely important, and so they set off.

ACT 2: Kang culling

Iron lad defeats Immortus, sealing the council, but its too much of an overload, causing Iron lad to disintegrate. Last ditch effort, Neutrilon time slips back to when he killed kang. and instead he knocks out his own variants. sparing kang and enchanting him with a curse of imortality using the forever crystal, meaning kang can never invade the multiverse. even though he did that, the timeline still delineates, and because he is traveling to the future, the present has already happened. the kangs disintegrate back into the council, leaving the remnants behind. the war is over. Neutrilon proved his abilities as a resilient leader. against all odds, getting dragged into bigger and bigger conflicts, he was the one to save everything. The First test the unconscious gives him concludes and the second begins.

ACT 3: Long Time

The aftermath and psychological effect. The Great Beyond, why dont you jsut leave, she showed you an exit. the Janic storyline doesnt conclude there. it has far greater implications in Hydro Bound. The entire Hyperborean leveling arc sets up the entropy the main universe will recieve by having a anchor being replacement. (worse than having no anchor being). Sets up kangs eventual return, the celestials, and the crystal king, all because of selfishness to save his universe rather than the entire multiverse.

part 2: Aftermath (destabilization is inevitable, seals quantum realm and takes kang quantums sphere) (TVA and Void return)
